This Yamaha AR195 has the most powerful, highest horsepower engines that have ever been put in a Yamaha sport boat. The 1.8L-supercharged powerhouses are also found in the soil-your-pants-fast GP1800, very high-performance WaveRunner.
The patented articulated keel design extends the keel line to the rudder and the downright solid hull design, combined with weight displacement, meant this 19-foot family bowrider, when pushed, felt absolutely as fun and nimble as a WaveRunner.
Because the lock-to-lock steering radius was less than a full turn of the wheel, you can keep one hand on the wheel and the other on the throttle and feel comfortable pushing it -- a well thought-out design.
Inside is all the stuff you’d expect on a Yamaha sport boat, the soft, but firm seating, durable, yet attractive upholstery and the popular padded stern swim lounge. There’s, somehow, more than 1,500 litres (400 gallons) of storage space when you add up all the underseat compartments, glovebox, port-sideconsole storage and in-floor ski locker.
Acceleration of jet boats feels a little different because it takes a bit for the water to be sucked up and shot out, but when it does you’re off in a flash. With the super-sharp handling, this can be a fun rip-around big boy toy or a comfy family cruiser or tow boat.
Forward-Swept Tower: The forward-swept aluminum tower provides the perfect angle for watersports.
In-Floor Storage: Oversized, in-floor storage compartment accommodates wakeboards and extra gear.
Cockpit Seating: Yamaha's 195 Series offers seating for eight.
Articulating Keel: Provides directional stability while docking or maneuvering around other boats and for straight line tracking at high speeds.
