Full Tilt has a galley, head, and sleeps at least four (closely comfortable). Wide decks for a sailboat so navigating from the cockpit to the bow is quite easy. Moves very easily in light winds.
Has a spinnaker for the tested sailor as well as Kevlar sails for racing. Or just cruise and enjoy the sights and sounds of our Northwest waters! There is a bar b que on the railing next to the cockpit.
We think we were the first renters this this 2017 season the first week of May and some things were not ready. Dave was very helpful rectifying this and in all aspects of the rental plus his hospitality goes beyond firsts.
The boat is old which we knew but she lacked certain things expected on a boat especially when renting multiple days.
We were very bothered by the musty/mildew smell in the boat and as we didn't have perfect weather (rain) weren't able to air it out.
The stated equipment in the listing wasn't all there and as a Certified Vessel Examiner I would have written up a couple of points. It is still beyond my understanding that there was no electric bilge pump on a keel boat this size.
All that put aside, the sailboat was in working order and we got some nice sailing in for the couple of days we rented her. She is a very balanced S/V and very easy to handle especially for a 2 man crew. The engine worked as needed and the sails (main & genoa) and sheets worked fine.
I would recommend this vessel to anybody especially with the way the owners go out of their way to make the rental as pleasurably as can be.
Great experience overall. David is very helpful - he goes through the various items about the boat in sufficient detail. He made the check-in and out process simple and smooth by being at the dock at the agreed-upon times. The boat itself is well kept and easy to operate. You'll get used to it's maneuvering capabilities in no time at all. Had no issues with the sails. It does have interesting backstays, but those are hardly a problem. Hope to take Full Tilt out again!
We had such a terrific time aboard Full Tilt on a Friday trip that we were back for more the next Monday. She is fast, agile and a joy to sail. David clearly takes great care of her and does the same for his clients. He is a real nice guy and was great at letting us know about the boat and her systems. We're looking forward to many more days on Full Tilt.
David is a super nice guy and very helpful and accommodating. We met a couple days early during the week and he gave an overview of the boat, systems, and emergency equipment. And this is a very nice racer with lots of sail area and very beamy. We had a wonderful day from 10am to dusk sailing the Puget Sound. Even after we forgot to hook back up the shore power he was very forgiving. Thanks David for a beautiful day for my family.
David's boat sure is a pleasure to sail when we had around 3 hours of good wind in the passage. The boat has a wide deck that I feel comfortably sleep on the side. All the riggings are easy to handle although I wasn't familiar with the running stays.
More importantly David is a super nice person to work with. He took care of us before and after sail and communicate with us promptly like no others could do. Thanks for making my family and friends enjoy a great day on water.
David was incredibly nice and the boat was in excellent functional condition, clean, and sailed well. Clearly David cares a great deal about his boat, but he also clearly wanted to make sure we were well taken care of. To that end David spent over an hour going through everything with us before we embarked on a multi-day cruise. Most everything is intuitive and standard. The boat does have running backstays that require a bit more attention than usual, but otherwise things were easy. We definitely hope to rent Full Tilt again, especially since David is just so darn wonderful to interact with!
