My Carver is in perfect shape cruising at 3400 rpm at 23 kn/hour. Bravo 2 (7.4 liter gas) Mercruiser engine. Sleeps 4 with nice salon. 60% of cockpit is under hard top cover with nice sky lights and good canvas enclosure over the stern seating area. 3.5 HP new Mercury dinghy engine. Come play around Puget Sound. Boat House kept in Olympia Yacht Club marina. Takes only 2.5 hours to Seattle but playing staying in the South Sound is terrific.
I cannot say enough about the great time my wife and I had this week! Theresa and Rich met us at the boat Sunday morning and gave us a very comprehensive tour of the boat, pointing out virtually every article on the boat for our use. Not having driven a boat this size before (28 feet), she and Rich took us for a test drive all the way out of the harbor and let me drive it so I felt comfortable with it. Throughout the 3 day rental, both Theresa and Rich were extremely helpful to the extent of figuring the tides for us to help guide us. The boat, itself, ran great and was so much fun. The weather was perfect too, sun and flat water. We highly recommend Theresa and the Louie Louie!
Theresa was very responsive and helpful, and got ready the boat for us to leave. The boat was clean, performed well and fuel consumption was as she described ( and has very accurate digital fuel used gauge. If gets chilly, there is a heater (when engine is running) which blows hot air which is nice. The boat doesn't have windlass, in case you plan to stay on anchor - bring somebody with strong hands). The boat is slightly leaning to one side ( from some uneven weight distribution) which is little uncomfortable, and as well frequently cayuses depth finder to stop working ( signal is not bouncing back to the transmitter on the bottom of the boat as boat is not horizontal on the water). When you find yourself in a shallow water, and dept finder stops showing depth below the boat- feels uneasy. The Chart plotter is working fine, only in shadow areas doesn't always have accurate numbers, and with a low tide case you have to have curate depth readings.
Another thing you need to know that that Olympia WA doesn't have fuel refiling station. You have to re-fuel it at the Boston Marina at entrance of the Budd inlet to Olympia. Be aware that it is not easy to get gas station attendant to show up, so be much earlier at the site to re fuel the boat. On weekends might be a long waiting time as it is the only refueling station close to Olympia,
But overall we enjoyed the trip, and I just wanted to help the future renters to better understand what to expect.
Thank you Theresa :-)
Looking forward to coming back for more!
Captain Theresa and Louie Louie are the best! Responsive and organized. Plan to return!
