Puget Sound is an amazing place to sail. There are many destinations, such as Gig Harbor and Poulsbo, with vibrant waterfronts. There are just as many relaxing coves and islands, such as Blakely Harbor or Blake Island. All destinations are better when you arrive by water
After spending years sailing around Puget Sound, we have four favorite charters that you can enjoy as-is or customize for your own special event. You can get in on the sailing action or just enjoy the view with a nice glass of wine. There’s always flexibility for what works for you and your guests. We especially like to help with special occasions and putting together the touches that make your event uniquely yours.

LIMIT OF 6 PASSENGERS by the U.S. Coast Guard small vessel for hire regulations , sorry this limit isn't flexible
Can we sail Lake Washington or Lake Union?
Violet is moored on the ocean side of the locks, while possible to do charters on Lake Washington and Lake Union, it takes a good portion of the day navigating back and forth through the locks and many draw bridges. There are other boats on this site more conveniently located on the Lake Washington and Lake Union side of the locks.
Will we see wildlife or whales?
On the typical sail we almost always see seals, sea lions, bald eagles, porpoises, and other wildlife. Violet's location in central Puget Sound, while great for sailing, doesn't make for very good whale watching. You will have much better whale watching results further north. There are many commerical whale watching providers in Anacortes, Bellingham, and the San Juan Islands.
We had a great time with John on his boat! Gorgeous boat, extremely well appointed and John is a pleasure - very professional, great conversation and extremely accommodating. We highly recommend the Violet for a great day on the water.
A friend and I had the most amazing experience with Capt John on his wonderful sail boat (yacht)! It was just the two of us for a day and he sure made us feel special for 8 hrs taking us around the Seattle waterfront, Alki front, bainbridge island, and finally anchoring in front of the most beautiful shore of blaklely shore. His boat was perfect- everything was so clean and equipped with a full kitchen. John was super easygoing and laid back, making sure we felt welcomed and comfortable at all times. He even shared his playlist on board (Beyoncé rocks:)). I just wish he had more availability so I can share the experience with more of my friends and family. Thank you for a wonderful day John and we will be back for sure very soon!
Thank you John for the amazing day of sailing for our birthday weekend. We loved the day sail around Elliott Bay and Blake Island. Thank you also for the special birthday snacks you had ready for us when we arrived. It was supposed to be a very rainy day, but the break in the weather made for a gorgeous sail with plenty of wind. We will be back in town, and would love to go out again with you !!
