Mac was wonderful to deal with. He had the boat ready and waiting for us with everything that we requested. The boat was wonderful and perfect for a day of wakeboarding and cruising the lake. He was clear with explaining the use of the boat and gave us plenty of tips to enjoy our day on the water. We would rent again from Mac without a hesitation!
We rented this boat about two weeks ago, and it was the highlight of our week-long trip. The boat owner (Mac) spent sufficient time explaining the operation of this boat, and the boat was immaculate and beautiful. Mac provided us wake boards and an inner tube that were all awesome. We will definitely rent from Mac again on any return trip.
I have rented boats each summer at Lake Tahoe. In the past, I used Craig's list, and it worked fine. But this year I needed a bigger boat for more people. I dreaded a new search because I want this task to be quick, easy, and fair priced.
A few web searches led me to Boatbound. Within a few minutes, I created an account and added some boats to my favorites. I spent forty minutes through the insurance coverage and company policies.
I searched and filtered options. I selected Mac's boat. He texted me immediately. We talked by phone a couple of times before the trip. We talked about what equipment he had, how to connect the iPhone to the radio for music, and where to meet at the marina.
The boat was in excellent condition. It had as much room as I needed for my party. Moreover, it was as advertised. I would have liked a set of kids skis and the trainer skis. Mac told me he would buy those for future renters.
One issue some people may have is taking the time to set up your account. If you do not have an Airbnb account, some of the steps do not make sense. I have Airbnb, so I understood the website's process of verifying that I am who I say I am. Also, you wouldn't have to spend an hour reading about the policies and insurance. Thus, your speed may be faster even than my speed.
All in all, the renting and the boating experience met my expectations. Mac understands how to host. To boot, he offered to refill the gas at his dock for half the price instead of going to the marina. I will rent from Mac again next year.
Great experience and would strongly recommend Mac's boat! Mac was quick to respond to all of our questions, emails and texts. The boat was exactly as described and everything worked great! Mac provided life vests, ropes, a tube, wake boards of different sizes for our kids and a full tank of gas!
Mac is a nice guy however his boat was misrepresented in that the ballasts did not work. The boat has no aux cable or bluetooth only a CD player. This was not mentioned until we figured it out. Following the rental Mac claimed there was scuff marks on his 12 year old boat. We did not do a pre or post walkthrough. This boat was kept in a private slip in the keys so no way damage was done. Mac basically scammed us out of our deposit so he could get a new gel coat on his boat. Nice guy though...CYA
We had a wonderful experience renting Mac's MasterCraft X10. The boat was in pristine condition and we had No problems what So ever. This was on of the best boat rental experience's I have had and I rent a lot of boats.
Mac was very professional and very responsive w/ Emails and Texts/calls once we were in contract.
Mac went above and beyond the call of duty and let us borrow his wakeboards, Ropes and also went out of his way to bring additional life jackets and water toys for my kids.
I would highly recommend anyone looking for a great boat to rent to Reserve a rental w/ MAC!
Thank you again Mac, just a Fantastic experience-
